We use this cargo box on our 2003 ACURA MDX. When we use it with 7 seats there is no more room for cargo in the rear of the truck. Maybe for some small bags.
Pros…
* Large Size
* Great styling
* Fast Install
* Lockable & Secure
* Little Wind/Road Noise
Cons…
* Premium Price Tag
* Reduced Gas Mileage
* Can’t go into most garages with it on.
*** Weight Limit on Roof Rack – Acura MDX Total Weight on Roof allowed is about 165lbs. With the box weighing about 65lbs, that leaves us with 100lbs of cargo. With full sized luggage with clothes that is only about 2 pieces.
So for road trips we put the large lightweight stuff on the top like sleeping bags, baby toys, & beach stuff or long stuff like sun umbrellas. We had to purchase a hitch carrier (Valley Cargo Hitch on AMAZON) for additional heavy luggage. The hitch can carry lots more weight, easy access, and be more aerodynamic. With both products we have not run out of cargo space.
*** Overall this THULE has been very useful and a solid roof box.***

Product worked very well on a recent family trip. Holds a lot and the hardcover keeps items away from the element.

I am very happy with this cargo container. It is quiet on the road and is very spacious. I have a 2 seat Chariot Bicycle Trailer and it fits inside fine. I can also throw my favority Lazy lounger camping chair. I was glad I went larger with the cargo box.

We bought this cargo box for extra needed space for a family camping trip. With having 2 children (in car seats), 2 bikes, 2 bike trailers, coolers, and all of the other camping stuff for an extended camping trip we knew it was this or take 2 cars. The Thule cargo box will pay for itself in several camping trips with the current price of gas. The amount of items this cargo box can hold is amazing. We were able to fit a double bike trailer, a single bike trailer, sleeping bags, pillows, and more. I’ve also used it for a weekend shopping trip with the ladies.
The attachment to the car is easy. My husband and I had it done in less than 10 minutes. We own an Acura MDX and some reviews I saw said we would need a special adapter to attach it to the roof rack but this was not the case. We ordered the adapter but have not had to use it.
I would recommend this cargo box to anyone who needs extra storage space.
