This was everything that I thought it would be. Good sturdy construction and good parts quality. The only issue that I have found is that my wife's bike has a frame that is so low that hook that holds the frame won't go quite low enough to keep the bike from a little front to back sway. I just wrap a towel around the frame so no real problem but it wasn't quite as expected.

The price was right and it even came with a bottle opener. The rack in itself is huge compared to other similar bike racks. When I fold it down to open the back of my truck, it rubs on the tailgate as it is set high up. It also sits higher than the tailgate when folded up.
My most recent concern is that the rubber has rubbed away on the arm that you push down to hold the bike and has rubbed the paint away down to the steel on the top tube of my bike. I have owned it for about 2.5 months.
I would rather just buy a seperate bottle opener.

I purchased the Yakima StickUp 2-Bike Hitch Mount Rack for use with my Ford Edge. Fast and easy loading and unloading of both men and women's model hybrid bikes without purchasing any additional support cross-bars or other accessories. The bikes lock down firmly in the rack with no movement or rubbing against each other. The rack assembles easily and seems to be made of high quality materials and construction. Recommend purchasing the Yakima LockUp 10 foot cable and hitch lock for security (which comes keyed alike).

This bike carrier has worked great for me. I have it on a Honda Pilot and it has been very convenient for hauling my road bike. It was very easy to assemble and to hook up to my 2 inch hitch. It feels very solid and I had confidence in hauling my bike.

upon purchase of a new jeep i found out that the original
racks that i bought were not wide enough. purchased the next longer size
cross bars and they worked. have used the racks numerous times since purchase.

The bars themselves are fine, but the end caps pictured were not included. I sent Amazon an e-mail about the missing parts but never received a response.

Let me add my voice to another reviewer. Be aware that these load bars are shipped without the end caps. Very misleading Amazon. This seems to be a trend in the retail industry. Nickel and diming the customer thinking the customer will not return the product, but will just go away grumbling. I have been a steady customer of Amazon's for about 4 years and will probably continue to be one. As for the load bar, they are fine. This is the third set I have ordered for different vehicles. If you don't get the end caps, you are inviting cuts from the sharp edges, damage to your cargo (kayaks in my case), rusting out of the bars from the inside and critter condos inside to bars.

The Thule load bars that I actually received were only 50 inches long, and I needed the 58 inch load bars, so I really couldn't do anything with them. It specifically said right in the title that they were the 58 inch bars, but they were not. I even wrote amazon back to try and right the situation, but no one contacted me, so I had to sell the bars on ebay and buy another pair that were the right length.

This bike rack mounted to my 2008 Accord which has a spoiler and fit great. Once strapped on it was very sturdy and felt like it was part of the car. The bike rack looks really amazing and is very stylish and functional. The problems I have with it are:

1. The straps slip some and become a little loose while traveling and I had to tighten them every hour or two on my 12 hour drive to Colorado.

2. The two bike bikes are so close together that they rubbed frames and took the paint off the bikes forks and back frame. There needs to be more spacing between the two mounting areas, I would by the Quickback 3 for my two bikes so there could be some space inbetween the two bikes.

3. I bought this rack because I wanted a really good rack with good padding that wouldn't scratch my new car. I made sure I washed the car and cleared any dust etc from the trunk before I mounted it but at the end of the trip there were big scuffed square marks on my truck where all the pads rested. Now I need a new paint job on my trunk as using scratch remover didn't work!

In conclusion, I wouldn't buy this rack again mainly because it scratched my new car all up. The people in Colorado are smart and all got trailer hitches installed on their cars and have hitch mounted racks. I didn't see 1 single trunk mounted rack there! Spend the extra $ on getting a trailer hitch installed and hitch mounted rack. In the end it will be cheaper than having to get a new paint job!
